About this Fuel Cost Calculator
Fuel Cost Calculator estimates how much fuel a trip may use and what that fuel may cost. You can enter distance in kilometers or miles, use L/100 km, km/L or US MPG for fuel efficiency, and enter fuel price per liter or per US gallon.
Formula or method
Fuel cost = estimated fuel used × fuel price. Distance, efficiency and price units are converted to compatible units before the calculation.
Example
A 300 km trip at 7.5 L/100 km uses about 22.5 liters. At a price of 1.50 per liter, the estimated fuel cost is 33.75.
